Scheduling that thinks.
Rosters that actually work.
Rostor is the AI-native workforce platform for the teams that keep the real economy running — hospitals, fulfillment centers, and retail floors. We turn skill mixes, labor law, and last-minute chaos into a roster your operators can actually publish.
Spreadsheets weren't built for human reality.
A nurse calls out at 5:42 AM. A forklift driver's cert expires Tuesday. A new fair-workweek ordinance kicks in mid-month. The tools most teams use — Excel, paper, an HRIS calendar bolted onto payroll — were never designed to think about any of this in time.
One model. 142 constraints. Published in seconds.
Rostor's CP-SAT engine treats your schedule as what it actually is: a multi-objective optimization across coverage, fairness, cost, and human preference. Hard rules are enforced. Soft preferences are honored as far as the data allows. Every decision is traceable.
- Hard constraintsSkills, credentials, max hours/day/week, min rest, location adjacencies, ratio rules, union work rules.
- Soft objectivesWorkload balance, preferred coworkers, cluster fairness, commute distance, sleep cycle, weekend rotation.
- Real-time replanWhen someone calls out, Rostor re-solves just the affected slice — your published roster doesn't shuffle.
- Explainable outputEvery assignment carries a reason. Every rejection carries an alternative. Nothing is a black box.
Three models. One job: remove surprise.
We don't ship a "ChatGPT in the corner." Rostor trains purpose-built models on your historical shift data, then continuously evaluates them against ground truth. If a model degrades, we tell you. If it can't beat a heuristic, we don't ship it.
Hour-by-hour predicted staffing need by location, role, and skill mix. Trained on your historical volume — patient acuity, units inbound, foot traffic, weather, local events.
Per-employee, per-shift probability that someone won't show. We pre-emptively cover risky slots with float, agency, or voluntary OT — before the morning panic.
Detects workload drift before it hits HR. Flags employees on path to fatigue, surfaces unfair weekend rotation, and rebalances quietly across the next four weeks.
Built for the floors the spreadsheet forgot.
Generic shift apps treat a nurse, a forklift driver, and a sales associate as the same person. We don't. Rostor ships with industry packs: vocabulary, compliance presets, integrations, and benchmarks tuned to the work your team actually does.
Acuity-aware nurse rosters, credential expiry tracking, charge nurse coverage, float pools, agency cost control.
- Patient ratios by state (CA AB394, OR HB 2697, NY S1168)
- Joint Commission + CMS-ready audit trails
- HIPAA-compliant; BAA available on all paid plans
- Credential walls — no expired BLS/ACLS on the floor
Pick / pack / ship balancing, dock door scheduling, peak-season ramps, OSHA stand-down planning.
- Volume-driven headcount: TEUs in → labor out
- Forklift, hazmat, MHE cert walls
- Cross-dock vs. case-pick vs. each-pick zones
- Carrier cutoff and trailer-load orchestration
Traffic-led floor coverage, predictable scheduling law compliance, cross-trained associate routing.
- Fair Workweek (NYC, SF, Chicago, Oregon, Philly)
- POS + footfall + weather → coverage curves
- Stock vs. sales floor split, with mid-shift moves
- Mall hours, holiday spikes, store-level overrides
Live on Rostor in 14 days.
No 9-month implementation. No scheduling consultants. Most customers publish their first AI-generated roster inside the second week.
We import last 18 months of rosters, time punches, leave history, and HRIS data. Your skills taxonomy, locations, and compliance presets are loaded.
Operators sit with our launch engineer for two 90-min sessions. We translate the rules in your head into machine-checkable constraints — every union clause, every state law, every unwritten habit.
Rostor generates rosters in parallel with your existing process. We measure deltas every morning: coverage, overtime, fairness. Nothing is published yet.
Your team publishes the first Rostor roster — usually one ward, one zone, or one store. We expand on your timeline, not ours.
Everything an operator needs. Nothing they don't.
Rostor is a complete workforce platform — not just a solver bolted onto a calendar. Time, attendance, compliance, communication, and analytics are first-class, and they all share the same source of truth.
Translate union clauses, labor law, and tribal knowledge into machine-checkable rules. Versioned. Auditable. Reversible.
Clock in from kiosk, mobile, or geofence. Automatic break enforcement. Exception flags route to the right manager.
Workers swap inside the rules. Open shifts auto-publish to qualified pools by seniority, skill, or fairness.
PTO, FMLA, sick, parental, jury — accruals tracked, balances enforced, requests scored against coverage risk.
Pre-built packs for HIPAA, OSHA, Fair Workweek (multi-jurisdiction), CA meal/rest, OR ratios, EU Working Time.
iOS + Android. Workers see their week, swap shifts, request leave, clock in, chat with their team — in 3 taps.
Call-out at 5:42 AM? Rostor re-solves the day in under 2 seconds, ranks 3 fill options, and texts the chosen one.
Coverage, overtime, fairness, attrition cohorts. Live dashboards, CSV/Parquet exports, dbt-friendly schema.
Workday, UKG, ADP, BambooHR, Kronos, Epic, Cerner, NetSuite, Snowflake, Slack, Teams. SCIM + SAML SSO.
"We were rebuilding the roster three times a week — somebody always called out, somebody's cert always expired, somebody always had a kid pickup. Rostor doesn't pretend that goes away. It just absorbs it and gives me back my Mondays."
The questions every operator asks first.
Don't see yours? Ask us anything — we'll answer with a real human, usually within an hour.
01Will the AI actually replace what my schedulers do?
No. Rostor takes the mechanical work — checking rules, re-solving on call-outs, balancing fairness — and gives your schedulers their judgement back. They review, edit, and publish. The AI never sends a roster live without a human pressing the button.
02How does Rostor handle our union or collective bargaining rules?
Every clause becomes an authored constraint, versioned and tagged to the bargaining unit. We've shipped scheduling for NNU, SEIU, Teamsters, UFCW, and several European works councils. If a rule can be expressed in language, we can express it in Rostor.
03What about HIPAA, SOC 2, and labor law?
SOC 2 Type II, HIPAA-ready with BAA, ISO 27001, GDPR-compliant, and audit-ready logs out of the box. Our compliance engine ships with pre-built packs for Fair Workweek (5 US jurisdictions), CA meal/rest, OR nurse ratios, NY HERO Act, OSHA, and EU Working Time Directive.
04How long is implementation?
14 days for a single site, typically 6–10 weeks for multi-site rollouts. You don't pay until you publish your first live roster.
05What happens to my data if I leave?
You own it. Full export to CSV, Parquet, or direct push to your warehouse. We delete inside 30 days on request. There is no lock-in, contractual or technical.
06Can I see the AI's reasoning?
Every assignment carries a structured explanation: which constraints were active, which alternatives were considered, and what made this the best assignment. Schedulers can override anything; the override is logged.
Stop building rosters.

See Rostor on your data. A real operator from your industry will run a 20-minute working session with you — not a sales pitch.
